You know, when I first started this work at home Dad stuff - I THOUGHT it was going to be great! I really did. However, I've come to realize just how difficult it is trying to wrangle in a two year old, wash diapers, and manage a new born....all while trying to wrangle in new customers to http://www.jewelloutdoors.com. Yes, it is difficult. But in all likelihood, these days will come to an end at some point. Either they will get older, and be off to school and all kinds of activities (which will have me running even more). Or, with the career goals I've set for myself, chances are I won't always be able to work from home. So I am putting aside my angst about the work & life balance. Just as I had recently decided to do this something seemingly miraculous happened! As I was sitting around writing new content for www.jewelloutdoors.com, I was also trying the "let's go without a diaper" potty training trick. This usually fails. But I was willing to try, try again. The room was quiet. Odd, I thought - 2 year olds don't allow such silence. In my mind, I figured Norah had gone to hide behind the recliner or couch again. Instead, she was standing over her potty chair. As I peered, she caught my glance and said, "yellow! yellow! pee!" Sure enough - she proved me wrong. So, even when trying to strike the balance between working at home, and being a Dad that does this (and often gets frustrated), there are big victories to relish in. Good Job Norah! The big prize you've been promised will be sitting on the table tonight when Mom gets home. Chocolate Cake for everyone!
